Walking Across Saudi Arabia

Alice Morrison, a UK explorer known as the "Indiana Jones for girls," is embarking on an epic 2,500-kilometer journey across Saudi Arabia. The first woman to walk the full length of the Draa River in Morocco, Morrison is now taking on this new challenge, accompanied by camels and local guides, to traverse deserts and mountains. Despite not being particularly athletic, Morrison, who speaks fluent Arabic, has been pursuing adventure since leaving her CEO job in 2011. Her journey through Saudi Arabia, which will take five months, aims to explore the kingdom’s culture, history, and landscapes while connecting with local women to learn about their dreams amid the country’s rapid social changes. Along the way, she has made exciting discoveries, including ancient petroglyphs, and is keen to share her experiences with the world. Morrison’s journey is not just about adventure but about showing the beauty of Saudi Arabia, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring others, particularly women, to embrace exploration and personal growth.
