Tree of the Year Winner

The winner of the 2025 European Tree of the Year contest is  a 300-year-old Polish beech affectionately known as The Heart of the Dalkowskie Hills. The stunning tree captured the hearts of judges with its majestic beauty and community lore—locals toss peanuts into the tree’s hollow for good luck. This marks Poland’s fourth consecutive win, highlighting the country’s deep-rooted love for its nature. Other inspiring finalists include a 400-year-old Spanish pine that's sheltered generations, a Scottish oak vital to rare ecosystems, and Croatia’s Tree of Freedom, planted over a century ago as a symbol of community unity. Each tree tells a story of resilience, connection, and history, reminding us of the beauty in protecting and cherishing our natural world.
