Bismack Biyombo, an NBA player for the Phoenix Suns, has announced that he will use this season’s salary to honor his late father. The 29-year-old’s $1.3 million contract will go towards building a hospital in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, his native country. Biyombo’s father died this summer due to complications from COVID-19, and his experience being in and out of hospitals for months is what inspired Biyombo to direct his funds towards providing great medical care for those in need. Besides building a hospital, Biyombo intends to dedicate the 2022 season to making his father proud.
