Minnesota is in the process of banning all “forever chemicals” in the state, a move that revolutionizes the way businesses will be allowed to source their products. Starting in 2025, any and all products containing PFAS, which are known as forever chemicals due to their damaging environmental implications, will be banned in the state. Many household products like carpets, cookware, and cosmetics are most likely to contain PFAS, and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency encourages businesses to safely get rid of any chemical-filled inventory before the ban sets in. The new requirement is a big step in protecting Minnesota from harmful chemicals, which can have severe consequences on human health and the planet. Minnesota legislators are hopeful that other states will follow suit in banning PFAS, allowing the entire country to reap the benefits of PFA-free living.
