Meet the Team Behind: Operation Care and Comfort

Operation Care and Comfort is on a mission to send a piece of home to our troops. By providing tailored care packages to overseas troops and supporting veterans on the homefront, OCC is dedicated to showing appreciation for those who serve. Learn more about their work here

Can you tell me about the need for your work?

Operation Care and Comfort recognizes the immense sacrifice made by our troops who leave behind their safety, comfort, and homes to protect ours. That’s why we strive to send them a little piece of home, a connection back to the memories and comfort they left behind. Our programs include sending care packages to deployed service members, providing tickets to entertainment and sporting events, and offering emergency financial assistance to veterans in need. We’ve filled over 300 cargo planes and delivered millions of items in care packages overseas, providing consistent support and comfort for our troops.

Who utilizes your programs?

We are committed to supporting our military and veterans, including mothers, fathers, young service members, retirees, and survivors. Our programs are designed to provide a personal touch to remind them that they are loved, remembered, and supported. Outside of sending care packages abroad, our Tickets for Troops program provides tens of thousands of donated tickets to local military families and veterans. The Adopt A Military Family program provides one-time support to military families who may be struggling to make ends meet.

What are some of the highlights of your work?

For over 20 years, we’ve shown appreciation for our military and veterans who inspire us by dedicating their lives to serving our country. We are a 100% volunteer-run organization, and all donations go directly towards supporting our military and veterans. We ensure that each package contains items that will truly benefit and comfort our service members, and we serve anyone who has served or is currently serving in any branch of the military.

How can individuals get involved?

If you would like to get involved, we would love to have you come visit us in person and volunteer. Help us create care packages, set up events, and work together to bring comfort to those who need it most. Even if you can’t come to our facility, you can make a difference by volunteering remotely. You can use your talents to make greeting cards, knitwear, other crafts, or monetary donations. Every contribution is appreciated and helps us fulfill our mission of supporting those who have sacrificed for us.
