A giant penguin at Sea Life Melbourne Aquarium in Australia has taken the internet by storm with his adorable features and friendly personality. Nine month old Pesto the penguin weighs a whopping 52 pounds, far exceeding the average adult king penguin weight of 31-37 pounds. Pesto was only a single pound when he was born, and aquarium visitors and staff have watched him grow by the day, quickly surpassing the size of both of his parents. The aquarium frequently posts videos of Pesto as he hobbles around his exhibit, eats 30 fish per day, and socializes with his king penguin peers. Pesto is currently sprouting fuzzy brown feathers as most young penguins do, but they soon will transition to black, white, and orange plumage as he develops. Pesto is the biggest baby penguin the aquarium has ever seen, and his presence has driven visitor rates through the roof. Experts believe that Pesto will lose some of his baby weight as he loses his brown feathers, but estimate that he will still be the largest king penguin by a longshot.
