As Los Angeles grapples with the aftermath of the most destructive fire in the city’s history, celebrities, organizations, and good samaritans are stepping up to help those in need. Actress Jamie Lee Curtis donated $1 million to a fund dedicated to relief efforts across the city, and Airbnb partnered with 211 LA to offer free temporary housing to those displaced by the fire. For those who want to contribute to the cause but don’t know where to begin, consider donating to the California Fire Foundation, Baby2Baby, Canine Rescue Club, World Central Kitchen, and the Animal Wellness Foundation. If you are in the Los Angeles area, consider dropping off food at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank or hygiene products at Bike Oven. These organizations are hard at work providing food, shelter, and essential items to the people and animals affected, as well as ground support to firefighters and other first responders. Every contribution helps them mitigate the effects of this catastrophic disaster.
