In White Plains, New York, a group of grandfathers are proving that retirement is just the beginning of a whole new chapter—one filled with purpose, connection, and community impact. Every week, the volunteer group of grandpas steps into elementary schools to mentor young students, offer wisdom, and spread joy. They also support young fathers by offering guidance, reassurance, and a steady presence in the lives of families who need it most. While these grandpas are out changing lives, their own health is improving too. Research reveals that older adults who give back regularly show improvements in memory and problem-solving—showing that kindness might be the most powerful medicine of all. Grandpas United is all about elderly men finding brotherhood, kids finding role models, and communities finding hope, with everyone benefiting along the way.
