Joy Ryan, a 94-year-old from Ohio, and her grandson, Brad Ryan, have embarked on a mission to visit every continent together. Their journey began in 2015 with a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, marking Joy's first mountain experience at age 85. In 2023, Joy became the oldest person to visit all 63 U.S. National Parks. At the age of 91, she got her very first passport to bring their adventures abroad. Recently, the duo reached Antarctica, their fourth continent, where Joy marveled at the mountains, glaciers, and wildlife. Joy hasn’t let her age hold her back from embracing new experiences, including climbing mountains and whitewater rafting. Their future plans include visiting Iceland to chase the Northern Lights, seeing orangutans in Borneo rainforest, and ultimately completing their mission to reach all seven continents. Joy and Brad hope their worldwide travels inspire others to embrace life's possibilities at any age.
