Fostering Hopes, a nonprofit in North Carolina, recently teaming up with the group H3 Collective to build a collection of foster homes. Families who are interested in fostering sets of siblings but don’t have the space to accommodate them can live in these new homes rent free. Many siblings are separated in foster care because parents don’t have room to house them, and Fostering Hopes wants that to change. The first free home is currently under construction and will be 3,600 square feet with five bedrooms. Volunteers are stepping up to help with construction and donate supplies so that families can move in as soon as possible. Hopefully, the option of free housing will encourage more people to sign up as foster parents.
