Saul, an adorable black Border Collie, jumped into action when his owner fell while hiking in Tahoe National Forest. The pup’s 53-year-old owner plummeted 70 feet, breaking several ribs and a hip. The man was thankfully able to call 911, but authorities had a hard time locating him. A search team was deployed to look for the lost hiker, and Saul joined their efforts to find his owner. Saul ran ahead of the team and started jumping and spinning to encourage them to follow his lead. The group followed Saul for 200 yards, eventually finding the heroic dog’s owner in a dirt pile covered in a camouflage tarp. Saul and his owner were taken to safety and are now recovering from the incident together.
