Boeing’s Paper Airplane Sets Record

A paper airplane designed by Boeing engineers has set the world record for farthest flight by a paper airplane. The Boeing team spent around 500 hours studying origami and aerodynamics before constructing the paper airplane. The design was focused on speed and limiting drag, and was modeled after hypersonic aircrafts. Engineers ran various flight simulations to find the most efficient throwing technique to maximize distance. The final product managed to fly 289 feet and 9 inches, beating the previous world record of 252 feet and 7 inches. The winning engineers claim it was a unique challenge that will help them with aerospace prototype creation on larger scales.
