A United Airlines flight from Ghana to Washington D.C. landed with one more passenger than it took off with. A passenger on the 11-hour trek went into premature labor mid-flight. Thankfully, there was a doctor and nurse on board who stepped in to help, along with the flight crew. The whole plane could hear the medics yelling “PUSH!” followed by the cries of the newborn. The pilot announced shortly after that a passenger had delivered a healthy baby boy, which incited cheers and encouragement from others aboard. About two hours later, the plane landed state-side and the new mother and baby were greeted by paramedics and congratulatory balloons.
