Vernon Jackson, a barber in Ohio, wants everyone who sits in his salon chair to feel comfortable. Kids with special needs oftentimes struggle with haircuts due to the loud noises and having to sit still. Jackson donates haircuts to these kids to make the experience positive for them. He provides breaks while cutting their hair, cracks jokes to make them smile, and gets them involved in the haircutting process. Each child Jackson works with is different, and he takes his time to get to know their individual needs to best utilize their time together. Parents are so grateful to have a barber that doesn’t judge their children and is willing to be patient with them. Jackson wants to continue the free haircuts for as long as Noble Salon is open so that these kids have a safe space they can return to whenever they need a haircut.
