Artificial intelligence is being used as an effective tool for diagnosing autism in children. The program, called AutMedAI, is able to diagnose children under the age of two with 80% accuracy by examining patterns in medical data, eliminating the need for extensive clinical testing. AutMedAI searches for key indicators such as the age of a child’s first smile, when they first started speaking, their eating habits, and the scope of their social interactions. The program can identify kids who will likely face delays or problems with communication, social skills, and cognitive development. AutMedAI is a game-changer when it comes to diagnosing developmental challenges at an early age and with limited information. The earlier children are accurately diagnosed, the earlier they can begin therapies and treatments that can limit the challenges associated with autism. Researchers are now working on increasing the reliability of AutMedAI by introducing new parameters, such as genetic information.
