On January 17th, 2022, Jacky Hunt-Broersma started her ambitious quest to run a marathon everyday for 100 days. This month, her journey successfully concluded when Hunt-Broersma finished her 104th consecutive marathon in Arizona. The 46-year-old is an amputee who lost her left leg to cancer. She ran all 104 marathons with a prosthetic leg. Hunt-Broersma broke the unofficial world record of most consecutive marathons run by a woman, which was previously set at 101 by Kate Jayden, a nondisabled athlete. Along the way, Hunt-Broersma raised $67,000 to help amputee athletes afford prosthetic limbs.
